Two exercises for reconnecting with oneself
To help you reconnect with yourself, simple exercises can be practiced daily, to be done without moderation.
Excellent stress relievers, these image sequences will effectively free you from your thoughts and thus allow you to refocus. Conscious breathing is the key to performing these exercises properly.
1/ Sophro-dynamic exercise to refocus
- Choose a fragrance from our Aromachologie range, we recommend Present Moment or Letting Go for this reconnection exercise.
- Standing with your feet aligned with your pelvis and your head straight, take a deep breath.
- Hold your breath, lungs full, then gently make small movements of your shoulders up and down. Your fists are closed.
- Imagine holding in your hands large paper bags filled with all your negative thoughts, doubts and worries. Everything that prevents you from feeling good in the present moment.
- Slowly exhale while tilting your head down and opening your hands as if you were releasing these bags along with the air in your lungs.
- Then, let your hands relax along your body and observe for a few moments the physical and psychological effects that this brings you.
- Become aware of this feeling of lightness, as if your entire mind had evacuated physical and psychological stress.
2/ Visualization to calm down
- Make yourself comfortable. With your back straight, imagine that you are climbing into a hot air balloon. The balloon rises gently into the air.
- Refocus your gaze on the horizon. The view is soothing, joyful. Then little by little, let go.
- Take a deep breath, gain height, you will have the sensation of rising and you will feel lighter and lighter. Imagine a sky of pure blue, reassuring. Everything is calm and serene.
- Take a deep breath and as you exhale release all your negative thoughts, let them go far away. You will find a calm and peaceful mind.
